31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us (NIV).
Vs 31: If GOD is for us, who can be against us? Nobody.
Ps 91: 14-16: 14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him (NIV).
Vs 32: GOD loved us so much that HE did not spare HIS own Son. HE gave HIM up for us all. Why won’t GOD give us other things?
There’s no love greater than this. To give up your own begotten son for mankind. Mankind who did not deserve the gesture. They sin against you all the time. They make you unhappy all the time. Only GOD can do this. HE is TOO AWESOME to fail! Father Abraham could give up his own son for GOD. I don’t think he’d have been interested in giving HIM up for mankind.
Thus, if we ask GOD for something, and we don’t get it, we should be rest assured of two things. Either it is not GOD’s Will or it is not the appointed time yet. GOD always knows what’s best for us. Jeremiah 29: 11- For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (NIV). Whenever we pray for something and we don’t get it, we should be praising GOD for HIS Awesomeness. We should trust that the reason why GOD did not answer is not because HE did not hear us or HE ignored us. It is because HE has a greater plan for our lives and destinies. HE has a greater plan for that situation. Moreover, you may not need that thing yet. At GOD’s Appointed Time, you will appreciate that thing better, and make better use of that opportunity, than if you got it now.
Vs 33: who will bring any charge/accusation against whom GOD has chosen?
Nobody. There shall be no enchantment against Jacob; no divination against Israel (Numbers 23: 23).
…it is GOD who justifies.
It is GOD who makes us eligible to qualify as ‘Jacob’ or ‘Israel’ against who there is no divination or enchantment. It is not by power or might. It is by the help of the HOLY SPIRIT whom we receive through Salvation in CHRIST.
Vs 34: whoever tries to condemn the saints of GOD (the devil) is wasting his time. Why? Because CHRIST- the Awesome & Glorious Lamb of GOD – intercedes for us ALWAYS .
This does not mean we can go on sinning or exploiting our weaknesses to the fullest, because CHRIST is interceding for us. CHRIST intercedes for us on our behalf because HE was once on earth, and HE knew firsthand, the weaknesses of men. This is something we should always Glorify HIM for, and praise HIM for. May the HOLY SPIRIT give us more understanding. Amen.
