Good day People of GOD.

Today we will be looking at Ephesians 5: 20, where Paul tells encourages the Ephesians to give thanks to GOD for everything.

always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (NIV).

You should give thanks to GOD for everything. Things may not work out as you planned, but it is a privilege to be alive and try again. You may not be where you wanted to be, but you are where you are now by the Grace of GOD. You may have made mistakes, but it is by the Grace of GOD you have the privilege to learn from your mistakes. This is why Paul tells the Thessalonians in 1 Thessalonians 5: 18- ‘give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (NIV)’.

Look at the story of JESUS when HE was faced with 5000 men (and their wives and kids- roughly 12 000 people) who were hungry in the desert, and HE had to feed them. That ordinarily seemed like a daunting task. The disciples were already fretting, yet, JESUS did not fret. HE knew what to do (John 6: 5-13). The only food available was the lunch of a young boy: five barley loaves and two fish. HE gave thanks for the food, and it multiplied to become more than enough to feed about 12 000 people, and 12 full baskets of food were taken as leftovers. Hallelujah! JESUS is so Awesome.

I want to share a personal story with you and what GOD revealed to me concerning this matter. I inherited short-sightedness or myopia. Even though I had discovered I was not seeing too well, I only started wearing glasses at 10 years old. After a while, I no longer wanted to wear glasses. It used to be uncomfortable, and it hides my eyes. Makes me look like a nerd, in other words :). Thus, I started praying, fasting, and wishing GOD would heal me. Two years later, I went to a doctor who told me he was looking at the worst eyes he had ever seen in a young person. My glasses are about two inches thick. So, maybe he was speaking the truth. But, I rejected his report in JESUS’ Name. I believe the report of the LORD who made me perfectly in HIS Image, rather than the doctor’s report. For almost a decade now, I have been praying to GOD to heal me. I have heard many testimonies of people been healed of myopia or long-sightedness or glaucoma during prayer and praise ministrations at Church. When this happens, I always claim it as my portion. I don’t like wearing glasses, and I can’t wait for GOD to heal me. I don’t want to undergo eye surgery in the future. Sometimes in the past, I was discouraged because I had been praying for so long, and nothing happened. But I have been encouraging myself in the LORD since.

Last week, I read a novel about a woman who became blind at a very young age. She fell in love with a man, got married, and was devastated she could not see her husband. She would also never get to see her children. This book highlighted the struggles, pain, despair blind people face. And I was so touched. Then, the HOLY SPIRIT told me that the character in that novel and other blind people do not have the privilege to wear spectacles to improve their eyesight. Their situation is practically hopeless! Thus, it is a privilege to have ‘bad eyes’ and still be able to help the situation by wearing glasses.

This scripture came to my mind, that I should give thanks to GOD for everything. I trust that one day, GOD will heal me and I will be able to see without visual aids. In the meantime, I will always thank GOD for the perfect eyes HE will give me soon, and for the privilege to be able to see, albeit with visual aids at the moment. There are many instances in the Bible where people gave GOD thanks, and HE delivered them from evil or fought wars for them. In 2 Chronicles 20: 20, GOD ensured that the Moabites and the Ammonites killed and destroyed themselves, before they could hurt the Israelites. GOD’s people did not have to raise a finger in order to win the battle they faced. Rather than get discouraged or afraid, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing praises to GOD and praise HIM for the Splendor of HIS Holiness because HIS Love endures forever. All they did was praise GOD, yet, they emerged victorious in the end, without raising a finger (2 Chronicles 20: 21-26). I believe that one day, GOD will give me perfect eyes, and I would not have to raise a finger in order to see without visual aids. I don’t just Believe, I am Conscious of it, I always Declare it, and I Expect (BCDE) that one day, God will give me perfect eyes.Be-thankful-for-what-you-have-youll-end-up-having-more-If-you-concentrate-on-what-you-dont-have-you-will-never-ever-have-enough-Oprah-Winfrey.jpg
